A hundred years ago last year the Blessed Virgin appeared to three young shepherds: Francisco Marto, Jacinta Marto and Lucia dos Santos. The apparitions continued throughout the summer and are considered to be among the most important made by Our Lady, with a message of repentance, the prophecy of another terrible war, and a vision of the Church laid waste.

Yet her message is, as always, one of hope, in that she told us what we need to do.

This is the story of a pilgrimage to Fátima.  Christians have gone on pilgrimage to holy places since time out of mind, and to celebrate the centenary of the final apparition of Fátima, on 13th October 1917, I decided to walk there from Corunna in northern Spain.
